Q Microwave's engineering approach, concurrent design process, reliable manufacturing capabilities, and supplier partnerships provide the right product, at the right time, at the right price.
Quotation Process. Detailed specifications are not required from our customers. Our engineering staff will accept minimal specification details and develop a custom solution for each requirement. Once awarded, Q Microwave can develop a specification drawing for use by our customer on future procurements.
Design Standardization. In order to reduce cost and expedite the development cycle from weeks to days, Q Microwave's Engineering prefers the use of standard components. Concurrent Engineering. Q Microwave's engineering staff places heavy emphasis on concurrent engineering with customers, suppliers, and internal engineering functions.
Rapid Prototyping Capability. Our rapid prototyping capability provides significant delivery schedule advantage over competitors. When standard packaging is utilized, initial prototype units are typically delivered within 2 to 3 weeks of contract acceptance. In situations where system evaluation of performance is required, customers can use our rapid prototyping capability to provide design feedback prior to any commitment regarding flight-worthy hardware. Design standardization techniques reduce material-lead-time issues and allow rapid order fulfillment.

Design Capabilities. Q Microwave has broad experience in the design and construction of miniature microwave filters from 20 MHz to 20 GHz using a variety of technologies and manufacturing techniques. Core product capabilities include miniature filters, diplexers, multiplexers built in a range of package types.
Standard Packaging. Q Microwave's design approach emphasizes the use of standard components. For our customers, this means standardized packaging and external transitions are preferred in order to reduce cost and delivery lead-time. Q Microwave's standard packaging includes the following configurations:
Sealing Techniques. Aluminum and brass housings are solder sealed with Indium or Sn62 solder or epoxy sealed. Microstrip and SMT packaging is EMI sealed and intended for use within sealed next-level assemblies that provide protection from environmental exposure.
Hermeticity. Hermetic packaging provides resistance to environment-induced corrosion or degradations associated with military environmental requirements. Q Microwave's hermetic products can meet the hermeticity requirements of MIL-STD-202, Method 112 (gross leak and fine leak).
Q Microwave is ISO-9001registered. This system includes a quality program designed to achieve continuous process and product improvement. All suppliers, material, and processes are controlled and traceability maintained. Standard environmental stress screening is designed to comply with MIL-STD-202 requirements.
