ESTIMATING INSERTION LOSS

Insertion loss at Center Frequency (F_c) is determined for your design using the selected Center Frequency (F_c), 3dBc Bandwidth (BW_3dB), and the Number of Sections. This information is then inserted into the the following equation:

Insertion Loss = [ (LC) (TF) (S_n + 0.5) / (BW_3dB) ] + 0.3dB

Where:

S_n = Number of Sections as taken from your custom design.
BW_3dB is in percent of F_c as taken from your custom design.
TF = Topology Factor is the adjustment made for the relative Q achieved by the various topologies. The values are provided as follows:
